What begins as a film about the New Jersey lesbian and gay couples who sued for marriage equality becomes a race against time, as one of the couples face a life-threatening illness. When Marilyn discovers she has ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), her fight to marry longtime partner Diane takes on a new urgency. Underscoring the need for gay marriage rights, Pilar Prassas has crafted a poignant and intimate chronicle of couple’s love, in sickness and in health.
