David is a scholar who focuses on the intersection of AIDS and art. Peter is a psychotherapist who spent years as an AIDS activist. The LA-based couple remains committed to fighting the still-present pandemic, so when David gets the chance to organize Indian artists to fight the country’s staggering infection rates, the couple move to India for nine months with their two small children. With Peter taking on the role of primary caretaker as David works, their relationship is put to the test in a traditional society resistant to change and difference.
